Our Heritage Tamworth pigs are raised outdoors with an abundance of space and freedom to roam. Our breeding stock originated in Saskatchewan, but our pigs are now mostly born and raised on our farm.
Tamworth pigs are known for their long, lean bacon and excellent mothering abilities which is why we chose this breed to begin with (we know how much our customers love their bacon!).
We take great care to raise our pigs to be happy and healthy, and so like our cattle, our pigs receive no antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. They are raised with the same bio security measures in place to make sure their environment is safe, healthy and comfortable for them.
Our premium pork products are superior in both nutritional content and taste, and we're proud to offer a year round selection of a variety of cuts as well as bulk freezer packages for your convenience.
It is part of our mission at Kootenay Natural Meats to raise our pigs to the highest standard of care, which means that not only is your pork going to be tasty and healthy, but you can also rest assured that the products you are eating come from a farm where the ethical treatment of animals is at the heart of all that we do.
We grow our own feed for our pigs right here on our farm, which means we can guarantee the healthiest diet possible. Our grains are grown 100% spray free with no GMO's and are mixed here on-site so we can add ratios of vitamins and minerals as necessary.
